This research project is to conduct a literature review on QMRA, develop a QMRA tool, and develop a guidance document on how to evaluate data inputs and assumptions, how to review and evaluate QMRA assumptions and their outputs, and how to use the QMRA tool. The State Water Board DDW will consider probabilistic QMRA to assist in developing required pathogen log removal values as part of criteria development for DPR.

The rent control clashes follow pandemic eviction moratoriums and rental assistance programs to prevent low-income tenants from losing their homes amid widespread job losses. In recent months, renter and landlord groups across the Bay Area have launched similar ballot-box campaigns, including competing measures to either expand or roll back tenant protections in Berkeley, according to the newspaper. In Concord, a landlord-backed effort was underway to repeal a newly approved rent control law but didn’t have the signatures. Tenant groups led by the Los Angeles-based Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment have submitted to the East Bay city more than 1,500 signatures needed to bring a measure to cap rent increases and add renter protections before voters, the East Bay Times reported.

Our headquarters building and central production facility is in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. It replaces three separate locations used for engineering, warehousing and production. This minimizes the time and effort needed to take a project from conception to completion. With underground radiant heating, diffused air flow, color-balanced LED lighting, bright walls and clean floors, our facility provides a safe, comfortable place for all employees. Most office spaces in this building receive natural light, and the production floor gets fifty percent more light than an average office. We planted the surrounding landscape with a variety of native grasses, shrubs and trees to minimize the need for fertilizers, irrigation and other grounds maintenance.

Opponents of rent control argue that, in addition to hurting small landlords still reeling from the pandemic, restricting rent increases creates a disincentive for developers to build more homes. The National Water Research Institute (NWRI) convened a panel of experts to provide recommendations on enhanced industrial source control for DPR. The Expert Panel has submitted their recommendations to the State Water Board in their report. A rulemaking process pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act will be a separate effort undertaken by the State Water Board for the uniform water recycling criteria for direct potable reuse through raw water augmentation. The State Water Board is coordinating with the Water Research Foundation (WRF) to provide scope and direction, provide technical review, and oversee the completion of five research projects by scientific and technical experts convened by WRF. Schmidtke credited Riverland Community College for incorporating an Earn and Learn program that supports and will advance the careers of employees with the company through mechatronics manufacturing. The 60,000-square-foot building is being renovated for the company and when complete will include 25,250 square feet of manufacturing space; 31,000 square feet of warehouse space and 3,750 square feet of office space.

The State Water Board has reviewed the panel’s draft memo and provided feedback to the panel. The DDW response to panel comments and recommendations includes proposed draft language. State Water Board staff is seeking feedback from the public and interested parties on the addendum to the Framework (Framework Addendum). DDW staff will review all comments received but may not be able to provide an individualized detailed response. The State Water Board will provide an opportunity for the public to present oral comments at a public workshop.
